A fleetingness comes across in the Plume Table Lamp from Oluce, one of the many emotions designer Christophe Pillet hopes is evoked from his sculptural works. The piece takes into great consideration the character of open, negative space, showcased in the gestural form of its slim, bending stem elevated atop a rectangular base. In an abstracted silhouette of a floating feather, the head of the piece folds neatly at the center, keeping its physical lamping elegantly out of sight. When turned on, a stylized task light streams down the piece, highlighting the inner surface of the plume for a crisp and refined edge quality. Oluce is the one of the oldest Italian lighting brands, established in 1945. Their lamps have been created by renowned Italian and international designers throughout the years. Today, many of the Oluce products are on permanent display in the New York Museum of Modern Art.
